13X molecular sieve For prepurification for Cryogenic Air Separation

13X molecular sieve is used to remove water and CO2 prior the air entering the distillation portion, because low temperatures would cause  them to freeze and deposit on the surfaces of equipment.

Synonym: Zeolite 13X,  13X molecular sieve, 13X-APG, BASF 13X Molecular Sieve, CECA Airsiev®, Axens AxSorb 913
Typical Chemical Formula: Na2O . Al2O3 . m SiO2 . n H2O (m < 2.35)
CAS NO.: 1318-02-1

In an Air Separation Unit (ASU), the first step is to remove water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and traces of hydrocarbons and Libra 13X molecular sieve with activated alumina combination are used for cryogenic air separation to remove moisture and CO2.

Downstream, the air is processed in a cryogenic distillation column in order to produce highly pure nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2) and argon (Ar).

Libra 13X Molecular Sieve for Cryogenic Air Separation has a high dynamics of impurity removal, good adsorption and desorption kinetics, and excellent physical properties. Cryogenic air separation is a method to produce oxygen with a purity greater than 99.9%.
